We here at Orange Pediatric Care, P.C. wish everyone a Happy and Healthy New Years. As Pediatricians in the Hudson Valley we know that winters can bring some extreme temperatures and conditions. Just the other day it was 3 degrees in Beacon and now it is 45 degrees. Extreme cold faces us with the challenge of staying warm and protecting exposed areas, especially for children. Outdoor activities are fun such as sleigh-riding and skating but as with swimming in the summer, sometimes you need to get out of the pool and warm up.Then the weather changes and it gets "warm", (comparably) and it is easy to dress down but still caution should be taken.
It is easy to let your or your children's resistance become compromised by getting too cold, doing too much activity and sweating then cooling of again repeatedly and staying out too long in the cold.
Pediatricians encourage physical activity, encourage fun, encourage play but overdoing it can also leave you and your children susceptible to illness.
So have fun, enjoy the beautiful Hudson Valley outdoors but also be careful, be prudent,
Hi, This is Chris, Dr. B's husband. I do a lot of the behind the scenes stuff at the office. I also built most of the furniture in the Beacon Office.
