Memorial Day, the unofficial start of summer is upon us.
Where did the Spring go? Is half the year almost done? ....already?
Does everyone have summer vacation plans yet?
All of this brings up a few important points.
A). If your children have asthma and or allergies, maybe it is time for a check up?
B). It is an EXCELLENT time to schedule your child's yearly physical and get them out of the way before you want to go away or do other things while the summer is here. It is also good because the closer the new school year gets, the harder it becomes to find a convenient appointment. (Please call us to check your insurance requirements. Some insurances go by calender year and others go by date -to - date where it has to be a full year in between physicals).
C). Please remind your family to be SAFE during the holidays watch out for hot BBQ's, ticks, lawn games, trampolines, ....now even bouncy houses can fly away! (I don't remember a pediatrician in Oz!)
Remember that we have an office in New Windsor and in Beacon when you make an appointment, Sometimes the time which is convenient may be available just a short distance away from your usual office of choice. So if you are in Orange or Dutchess counties , sometimes the more convenient pediatric office is on the other side of the Hudson.
Dr. Bernardez and Evelyn Santiago our nurse practitioner have hours in both offices.
THANK YOU !!!
Yes, it is true! Dr. B is finally getting some much deserved time off, a weekend in Maine! (Pediatricians don't always take time off easily)>Yummmm, Lobsters, Clams, seafood Heaven!
But don't worry, we are still open.
Evelyn Santiago our wonderful Nurse Practitioner will be covering our New Windsor office, (32065 Rt. 9 W New Windsor, NY 12553), on Friday afternoon and also on Saturday Morning. She will also be covering our Beacon Office, (301 Main Street Beacon, NY 12508) on Saturday afternoon.
Evelyn is fluent in Spanish and has been working with Dr. Bernardez for over a year now and also did some her clinical training right here at Orange Pediatric Care. She has a very friendly style and has become part of our Orange Pediatric Care family. As with Dr. B she will take the time to explain everything to you and answer all of your questions. She gives the Compassionate, Quality, Personalized care that Dr. Maria Bernardez and Orange Pediatric Care is known for.
As always we are just a phone call away if you need us.
Spring has really arrived in the Newburgh / New Windsor area. (I know it is also there in the Beacon / Cold Spring / Fishkill area too!). So what better way to celebrate than to renew the flowers by the Rt 9 W Pediatric Office sign of Orange Pediatric Care for Dr. Bernardez?....and to do it on Mothers Day.
Yes, the flowers now are small next to the sign and their surroundings. However, like children they need nurturing and feeding, water and Sun to grow. Hopefully with the right care they will grow to be beautiful and fulfill their place in the world. As they grow and add color to our sign and parking lot in New Windsor we hope they will attract butterflies.
Dr. B loves flowers and all of the nature that we have in the Hudson Valley especially in Orange, Dutchess and Putnam Counties. She loves the hanging flowers the City of Beacon has hanging from the street lamp posts along Main Street in Beacon. She loves when she walks down the street to our office at 301 Main Street all of the colors and the beauty they add to Main Street in Beacon. I think it is natural that pediatricians love flowers. I think flowers represent the beauty an d potential of children.
It was about two weeks ago that Beacon had it's annual "Beacon Barks" Dog parade. It was a beautiful day and Main Street was filled with people and families with their dogs and others who just wanted to come out to Beacon and meet all of the dogs.
I wish I had pictures, but trying to hold Spaghetti & Meatball, Dr. Bernardez's dogs is a handful, so not able to also take photo's. Spaghetti is a rescue puppy, she is an English Mastiff and at a year and a half old she is 135 lbs. or so. Meatball is 3 years old and he is around 215 lbs. Yup, they are quite the big doggies.
Often I take them to the Orange Pediatric Care's offices. They like going for a ride in the car. Meatball is a little afraid of Main Street in Beacon but he will get out of the car around 301 where the our pediatric office is. Inside 301 Main Street at Orange Pediatric Care, Meatball is usually off the leash and he is happy.
Sometimes I take them to Dr. Bernardez pediatric office in New Windsor, yup Orange Pediatric Care in New Windsor! Our main office, close to Newburgh, Cornwall, Vails Gate, Wallkill, ...you get the idea a lot of Orange County.
Last weekend I believe Fishkill had their "Cupcake Festival". I didn't go I was busy painting part of our New Windsor Pediatric Office, but a Cupcake festival must have been fantastic! I would have liked to try all of the cupcakes. Come to think of it so would Spaghetti and Meatball!
During the Spring, Summer, and Fall there are fairs and festivals all over Dutchess, Orange, Putnam counties and in the rest of the Hudson Valley.
I mostly love the car shows but let me know what ones you like. Let me know what ones are coming up and we can post them here. Let's let everyone know what wonderful things go on for you and your family all over the Hudson Valley!
Hi, This is Chris, Dr. B's husband. I do a lot of the behind the scenes stuff at the office. I also built most of the furniture in the Beacon Office.
