Dr. Bernardez and Orange Pediatric Care would like to remind you to still dress accordingly and remember that the temps still drop at night here in the Hudson Valley.
As Spring approaches it is time to think of your yearly school physicals, camp physicals, and sports physicals. Make sure you are up to date and if your insurance allows to try to schedule them early so you can get an appointment time convenient to your schedule.
Spring in the Hudson Valley is also time to think about your families Asthma and Allergy check ups/follow ups. Orange and Dutchess Counties are not always allergy friendly. I know going to the doctors office and visiting your pediatrician, even one as nice as Dr. Bernardez isn't always high on you or your children's list of fun things to do, but....."an ounce of prevention....
and your kid's health is important.
Spring is also a time of more outdoor activities, please keep in mind it is also a time to be wary of deer ticks. This past Winter was also hard on the many deer that live around and with us. They have to forage far and wide for food when the snowfall is as much as it was this past winter. They have and will go places closer to where humans are in order to find something to eat. Please protect you, your children and families against Lyme's disease. Dress to cover your skin when in the woods, gardening etc. and there are many commercial and homemade tick repellents available, (you can find all natural non toxic repellent recipes online).
So as the weather warms, go out and have some fun, just be prepared and always know if you need a pediatrician, Dr. B and Orange Pediatric Care has offices both in Beacon and in New Windsor, so we are convenient no matter what side of the River you are on!
